It is recommended that you should be drinking around 2 litres of fluid a day, and if you are breastfeeding you are likely to need more, but it’s easy to forget when you are busy and tired. Here are some ideas that may help:
- Fill a 2-litre bottle in the morning with your preferred drink, and then refill your glass from that throughout the day. You’ll soon realise how much/little you’re drinking and having the bottle to hand reminds you to drink regularly.
- Taking a small bottle out with you can also help to make sure that you don’t go too long without a drink.
- Make sure you drink every time you offer your child a drink, as most parents are great at anticipating their children’s needs but forget their own.
